Event Description:
Presented in conjunction with LMR and Georgetown University Law’s Center on Ethics and the Legal Profession, this four-day Law Firm General Counsel Workshop is specifically designed for lawyers who have recently assumed roles in their firms overseeing conflicts of interest, legal ethics, and risk management. It is ideal for new law firm general counsel, deputy or assistant general counsel, and risk or compliance officers. The workshop is structured to provide an overview of these important functions and to equip participants with the skills they need to perform their jobs more effectively and to become trusted advisors and advocates within their firms.
Approach and Format:
The Law Firm General Counsel Workshop is led by an experienced faculty of current law firm general counsel, specialists in compliance and technology issues, and labor and employment experts, as well as faculty from the Georgetown Law Center with extensive experience in ethics and risk management in law firms. The format is designed to encourage interactive discussions on ethical considerations, legal trends, and effective communication strategies. The program is grounded in practical experience at the operational level, providing usable approaches and solutions through case studies, lectures, panels, and interactive exercises.
